New Balance Executive Joins World Cup Honorary Board
New England Council member New Balance has become one of many Boston-based companies to sign-on to the city’s World Cup promotion efforts. Chris Davis, chief marketing officer and global brand president of New Balance, has joined the honorary board of ‘Boston 26.’
The board is comprised of many Boston business leaders and is led by State Street Corp. CEO Ron O’Hanley. The main goal of this group is to provide strategic guidance to the Host Committee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Boston 26.
Davis told the Boston Business Journal that his goal in joining the board is to elevate Boston’s status on the national sports stage. “We are proving to the world that Boston is a premiere global sporting city.’ Davis said.”
The New England Council commends New Balance and Chris Davis for their efforts in ensuring a beneficial World Cup experience for players, fans and residents alike.
