Boeing’s Strengthens Global Network with Next-Generation ViaSat-3 Launch

New England Council member, Boeing, has announced its delivery of ViaSat-3F2, the second spacecraft in ViaSat’s next generation. Built on Boeing’s 702MP+ platform, the satellite is designed for high power and all-electric propulsion and is scheduled to launch later this month.

Once in orbit, ViaSat-3 F2 will add 1 terabit per second of capacity to ViaSat’s global network. With more than 60 similar satellites developed for customers, this represents another milestone in expanding reliable global communications on land, at sea, and in the air.

“Our goal is to enable missions with reliability and timely delivery,” said Michelle Parker, Vice President of Boeing Space Mission Systems. “With ViaSat-3 F2, we’ve built on proven technology to deliver high-speed connectivity for users who rely on it.”

As the aerospace industry moves toward more sustainable missions, the Boeing 702MP+ uses efficient all-electric propulsion and advanced solar-array technology, making it lighter and longer-lasting.

The New England Council congratulates Boeing on this accomplishment and commends its continued innovation in expanding access to fast and secure communications.
