Issues

The New England Council works with members throughout the region and across all sectors of the region’s economy to develop consensus-based positions and advocate for federal policy that will drive economic growth and improve quality of life in New England.

This work is done primarily through our various sector-specific Policy Committees and cross-sector Working Groups, each of which has at least one assigned NEC staff contact.  In addition to policy advocacy efforts, these committees and working groups also serve as forums for education, networking, and information sharing.

The committees and working groups meet regularly to identify issues of mutual concern and to develop policy positions and recommendations.  The Council works to articulate these positions to policymakers in Washington and to serve as a resource for members of Congress as they tackle issues of importance to Council members.

In addition, the committees also regularly host speakers, such as Congressional staffers and other experts on issues before the committee.  In addition, the committees offer excellent opportunities for members to network with other professionals in their industry.

Please visit the different issues pages in this section to learn more about the Council’s recent policy work and current priorities.
