Seven Hills Foundation Merges with Massachusetts Education and Career Opportunities to Expand Student Support Services
New England Council member Seven Hills Foundation completed its merger with Massachusetts Education and Career Opportunities (MassEdCO), formalizing a longtime partnership between the two organizations.
MassEdCO had provided career and educational support services since 1973 before experiencing a sudden loss of federal funding that disrupted its operations. As a human services organization serving individuals with significant life challenges, Seven Hills is well positioned to continue several of MassEdCO’s programs: the TRIO Educational Talent Search Program, which helps students in Worcester and New Bedford pursue education and training opportunities, and the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Program (GEAR UP), which encourages low-income students to prepare for college.
“Our mission calls for Seven Hills to respond to the needs of people with significant life challenges, and these students certainly deserve inclusion in our portfolio of services,” said Kathleen Jordan, president and CEO of Seven Hills Foundation.
The New England Council congratulates Seven Hills Foundation on this merger and recognizes the organization’s efforts to ensure students continue to have access to valuable educational and career development opportunities.
