The Worcester Business Journal

New England Council member, Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester has received state funding of $2.6 million in order to facilitate the post-incarceration transition for individuals. The college will offer training for workforce jobs in the fields of culinary sciences, construction, manufacturing, hospitality and healthcare industries.

“Funding for these types of workforce training programs through re-entry grants enables us to provide vital skills and training necessary for returning citizens to be successful and self-sufficient,” said QCG president Luis Pedraja. “Providing a pathway to a better life. This not only helps the individual person, but it also bolsters our economy locally and statewide.”

Funding for this program is provided by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development and will be in collaboration with the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction.
