Stop & Shop partners with Boston Legacy FC to address food insecurity
New England Council member Stop & Shop has teamed up with Boston Legacy FC to host a food distribution event at Charlestown High School as part of a new multi-year partnership aimed at addressing food insecurity across Massachusetts. The April 14 event, held through Stop & Shop’s School Food Pantry Program, provided students and families with fresh produce and pantry staples ahead of spring recess, and also included a soccer scrimmage and equipment donation.
The event comes as demand for food assistance continues to rise across the region. Stop & Shop’s School Food Pantry Program works to connect students and their families with access to nutritious food through partnerships with schools and community organizations.
The New England Council commends Stop & Shop for its continued commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting the communities it serves across New England.
