Citizens Bank Expands “Feet on the Street” Strategy Under New Regional Executive

New England Council Member, Citizens Bank has appointed Melisa Carrascoza as the new market executive for business banking in the Southern New England region. Carrascoza will oversee five market leaders and 34 relationship managers serving clients in MA, RI, and CT with a target on supporting small and mid-size businesses.

The business banking team at Citizens Bank provides advisory services that address both day-to-day banking needs and larger strategies such as acquisitions and expansion. A key part of Carrascoza’s strategy will be to focus on client engagement through a “feet on the street” approach, meaning that managers will regularly meet with clients face-to-face and foster a stronger business environment. By prioritizing trusted relationships, local businesses will have more resources and confidence to grow.

“We offer ‘white glove’ banking support,” said Carrascoza. “Clients get immediate access to their relationship manager’s direct cell phone.” She added that her perspective is shaped in part by her own family’s experience running small businesses, giving her a firsthand understanding of how a business works. Carrascoza’s main goal is to ensure her clients feel they have a trusted advisor. “We are seeing turbulence in the economy right now,” as she is holding out for businesses struggling in our economy right now, but sees their potential in succeeding.

The New England Council congratulates Citizens Bank on their leadership and applauds the organization’s commitment to support businesses across the region.
