WorkReadyNH works with the International Institute of New England

New England Council member, the International Institute of New England, recently worked with WorkReadyNH to provide professional training and employment support for eight immigrants and refugees from four countries.

The tuition-free program supports New Hampshire’s workforce by educating incoming professionals. The course lasts 10 weeks and concludes with participants presenting the skills they learned through the course and celebrating their completion.

“The instructor helped them with their resumes, their language skills, soft skills, and career-building experiences like mock interviews,” said Dawn Hamdi, WorkReadyNH Director at Great Bay Community College. “The next step is finding employment. They have their resumes, interview skills, and the confidence to pursue their dreams.”

Headquartered in Boston with additional offices in Lowell and Manchester, the International Institute of New England offers humanitarian aid, English language classes, employment assistance, skills training, and immigration legal services to refugees and immigrants from across the globe.

The New England Council commends the International Institute of New England for strengthening New England’s workforce.
