University of New England announces partnership with Atlantic Hospitality to advance student careers

UNE

New England Council member, University of New England, has partnered with Atlantic Hospitality to advance experiential learning and provide students in its College of Business with real-world experiences in Maine’s hospitality sector. The collaboration includes internships, applied classroom projects, and hands-on learning opportunities that aim to connect the students’ academic studies with practical industry knowledge and experience, and UNE students across all business majors have the chance to participate in the placement process.

“We envision a model where academia and industry collaborate seamlessly, offering leadership development, entrepreneurial opportunities, and co-created curricula,” said UNE director of outdoor business and innovation Aimee T. Vlachos.

Some future opportunities for students include learning about scale production for a brewery and a native beer brand, analyzing the relationship between sustainability and profitability for outdoor hospitality businesses, and connecting with sports leadership and management for local teams.

The New England Council congratulates UNE on its newest collaboration that will help its students thrive in their future careers.
