UNE introduces five new academic programs to meet workforce demands
New England Council member, University of New England, has launched five new academic programs that will assist the nation’s future workforce needs.
The programs consist of two undergraduate business majors in supply chain management and economics, a psychiatric mental nurse practitioner master’s program, and gerontology and public history for undergraduate minors. By utilizing these programs, students will be better equipped to compete in rapidly changing industries and contribute to the workforce in Maine and New England.
“Each of these new industry-focused programs touches an area urgently needed in society today, from the complicated economic supply chain issues in today’s global market, to the mental health crisis, and the growing needs of an aging population,” said UNE provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs Gwendolyn Mahon.
