Omni Parker House celebrates 170th birthday with new renovations
New England Council member, Omni Parker House, has renovated its hotel to celebrate its 170th birthday, commemorating 19th-century heritage and American cultural history. Founded in 1855, it has gained attention as the longest-operating hotel in the U.S.
The renovation honors the hotel’s cultural roots while enhancing modern comfort and design. The Rooftop Ballroom was redesigned to reflect the legacy of the hotel’s notable female patrons, and the Press Room features a custom carpet inscribed with the final two handwritten pages of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
“For 170 years, the Omni Parker House has been at the center of American culture, a gathering place where literary giants, baseball legends, and political leaders shaped ideas that still resonate with us today,” said Susan Wilson, Omni Parker House historian.
The New England Council congratulates the Omni Parker House on 170 years of hospitality and history in Boston and commends its efforts to preserve and celebrate Boston’s legacy through this renovation.
