Massasoit Community College breaks ground on $52 million renovation

New England Council member, Massasoit Community College, broke ground last month on the first part of their $52 million Transformation Through Renovation (TTR) Project. The July 16th event celebrated the beginning of construction on the college’s new 26,000 square foot science building on its Brockton, MA, campus.
This project is partially funded by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Adam Baacke, Commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), expressed the Healey-Driscoll administrations dedication to supporting public higher education, especially community colleges.
This renovation comes as a needed update to Massasoit’s campus, as the TTR Project is the first large renovation of an academic building at Massasoit since 1978. “Massasoit has always provided our students and the communities we serve with an accessible, affordable, and high-quality education,” said Bill Mitchell, president of Massasoit Community College. “Massasoit’s new Science Building will truly transform how we deliver in-demand STEM education to the next generation of students in Brockton and beyond.”
The New England Council congratulates Massasoit Community College on this exciting step in their growth.
