Amgen Massachusetts Hosts 10th Annual Biotech Day
New England Council member Amgen Massachusetts recently hosted its 10th Annual Amgen Biotech Day with more than 100 graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from over 20 institutions across New England. The event provided attendees with opportunities for career exploration, scientific learning, and networking with biotechnology professionals.
Participants heard from Amgen scientists and leaders about biologics development, data science, machine learning, process chemistry, and multi-omics research. Programming also featured laboratory tours, career discussions, and a networking reception.
“For ten years, Amgen Biotech Day has given students and early-career scientists the opportunity to see what biotechnology looks like from the inside while connecting directly with the people behind the science,” said Margaret Faul, Vice President of Drug Substance Technologies and Site Head of Amgen Massachusetts. “We hope the experience broadens perspectives on the many ways scientists can improve patients’ lives and helps inspire the next generation of leaders in our industry.”
The event coincides with Amgen Massachusetts’ 25th anniversary. Since establishing a presence in Cambridge, they have contributed to the region’s dominance in biotechnology. The New England Council commends Amgen’s continued commitment to scientific innovation and workforce development in the area.
