AI fuels new medical billing startup created by Brown students

Boston Globe

Two students at Brown University, a member of the New England Council, have developed an artificial intelligence startup that helps doctors complete administrative tasks without overburdening their office staff.

Jay Gopal and Lucas Lieberman were inspired by the discovery that human-driven medical billing causes lost revenue and delayed income, which their online portal would eliminate. So far, they have closed pre-sales and signed letters of intent with several customers who plan to use their platform, Kyron Medical.

“Kyron Medical uses software and AI tools that make your life as a doctor easier. We think that there are a lot of repetitive tasks that doctors don’t want to do, and they shouldn’t need to do. We can do them faster and more accurately than what the current processes entail,” said Gopal.

The young entrepreneurs hope to launch the fully completed product soon.

The New England Council commends Brown University’s Gopal and Lieberman on this innovative new startup.
