Aflac announces children’s book ‘Beyond Words’ to support childhood cancer
New England Council member, Aflac Inc. recently released a new children’s book, Beyond Words, designed to help children express empathy and compassion for peers facing heath challenges. The initiative continues Aflac’s long– standing commitment to supporting children through the Aflac Childhood Cancer Foundation.
The book “Beyond Words’ written by bestselling author Sheri Fink, follows Buddy, a bear cub, on adventures that teach the importance of actions over words. This book adds to Aflac’s existing programs, including the My Special Aflac Duck Initiative, which has provided comfort to more than 40,000 children with cancer and blood disorders since 2008. “For more than 30 years, Aflac has supported children and families during their cancer journeys,” said Dan Amos, Aflac CEO.
“Aflac’s heartfelt mission to help children experiencing childhood cancer and blood disorders — and those surrounding them — through a children’s book exemplifies the company’s commitment to make a tangible difference in children’s care,” said Fink.
The New England Council applauds Aflac Incorporated for its collaboration in supporting children and families facing health challenges with the book, ‘Beyond Words’.
