Needham Bank plans four new branches targeting mixed-use developments across greater Boston

New England Council member Needham Bank has announced plans to open four new branches in 2026, targeting mixed-use developments in growing neighborhoods across Greater Boston and southern New Hampshire.

The new locations include Allston Yards and the Prudential Center in Boston, a site in Quincy, and a branch at Tuscan Village in Salem, New Hampshire — a development the bank helped finance. The Allston location is expected to open in late April, with the Prudential Center and Tuscan Village branches following in the second quarter and the Quincy location targeted for the fourth quarter. The expansion marks the first time Needham Bank has built a new branch since opening its first Boston location in Mission Hill in 2020, and will bring its brick-and-mortar network to 22 branches by year’s end. Most of the new locations will span approximately 2,000 square feet and employ between four and seven staff members.

“We’re the builder’s bank, so we want to go where the people are building,” said Needham Bank Chief Operating Officer Christine Roberts. “We want to be within the communities — the new Allston community is fantastic — and we want to be a part of supporting and building them.”

The New England Council commends Needham Bank for its continued investment in New England communities and its commitment to expanding access to community banking services across the region.
