Campus Connections: Creating Community Across The Professions

University of Hartford

Leveraging partnerships with Industry Associations and Community Partners, students have the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals about the organization’s ethical decision-making process and to receive guidance on how to access and navigate the talent pipeline. As students begin their career journeys, organizational ethics (values, justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility) are important factors in pursuing employment. The Campus Connections program invites professionals to share directly with students – who they are, what they stand for and where their organization fits in the (business) eco-system. In order to guide students to think critically about these events, students are provided Campus Connections: Creating Community With Engaged Reflection conceptual framework which encompasses pre-event forecasting (what they think the event is about), event experience (what happened at the event), post-event assessment (processing what happened, making connections) and post-event Take 2 Gratitude Program (thanking participants). This program is offered through a section of the academic course Ethics in the Professions.
