New England Council member Vermont Mutual Insurance Group’s President & CEO, Daniel C. Bridge, has been named 2023 Insurance Professional of the Year by the Insurance Library Association of Boston.

Established in 2002, the award is presented annually to an insurance industry professional recognized for their leadership and strong values. Mr. Bridge has led Vermont Mutual since 2015. During that time, the insurer has been recognized as a U.S. Top 50 insurer and named a Best Place to Work in Vermont by various organizations. Mr. Bridge also founded the Vermont Mutual Charitable Giving Fund in 2014, a program that recently provided aid to Vermont communities affected by flooding in July. In addition to his professional and charitable endeavors, Mr. Bridge helps run STAR Basketball, a 6-week after-school sports program that pairs children with disabilities with high school students.

“Our Board has known for years we had a truly exceptional leader in Dan,” said William Cody, Vermont Mutual Board Lead Director. “He and his team have consistently produced best-in-class financial results while meeting the needs of our agents, policyholders, and employees. It is extremely satisfying that his impact is being recognized by The Insurance Library Association in this way.”

The New England Council commends Mr. Bridge, and Vermont Mutual Insurance Group for its leadership in the industry.
