SolutionHealth announces plans for new behavioral health hospital

New England Council member, SolutionHealth, has partnered with Acadia Healthcare to build a new behavioral health hospital in Southeast New Hampshire.

The $60 million project will aid community access to behavioral care and will include 144 patient beds along with a variety of inpatient health programs. This represents a doubling of inpatient capacity for the SolutionHealth system and will offer necessary assistance to patients requiring specialized service. The undertaking will also relieve the pressure currently placed upon other hospitals in the region, which have been forced to convert ER rooms into inpatient areas. The important benefit of this project is further exemplified by the $15 million of New Hampshire state funding provided for the construction of the anticipated hospital.

“The goals of the joint venture include increasing behavioral health access in the region, reducing emergency department waiting periods for behavioral health triage and disposition, and providing a state-of-the-art behavioral health center of excellence for patients, close to home,” said Bradley Kreick, CEO of SolutionHealth.

The New England Council would like to commend SolutionHealth for its continued efforts in supporting behavioral health.
