Saint Anselm College receives ‘transformational’ $40 million gift
New England Council member Saint Anselm College recently announced that it will receive a $40 million donation from Robert and Beverly Grappone. A portion of this gift includes $11 million for the Robert J. Grappone School of Business and Innovation, as well as $5 million for the Grappone Humanities Institute.
The Grappones are connected to Saint Anselm through their son Gregory, who graduated in 2004. And when he tragically passed away from cancer in 2015 at age 35, his parents decided to honor his life through the love that he had for his alma mater. This gift is one of the largest that a college or university has received in New Hampshire.
Saint Anselm’s president, Joseph Favazza, said the gift will be “transformational” and that it “will shape Saint Anselm today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.” Robert Grappone echoed this, stating, “We’re supporting an institution that has been strong to begin with, but we want to make sure it becomes even stronger in the future.”
The New England Council congratulates Saint Anselm College on this gift and commends the growth that will be possible because of it.
