Rhode Island Foundation announces $2.5m in grants for opioid recovery and support services

New England Council member, the Rhode Island Foundation, has announced grants of nearly $2.5 million to go toward combating the state’s opioid crisis. Applications for this funding are due by June 6th. Those interested in applying can do so directly through the Rhode Island Foundation’s website. This combined effort between the Rhode Island Foundation and the State of Rhode Island will work further to help uphold the statewide goal of improving and saving lives.
Governor of Rhode Island, Dan McKee, explains how “this funding is a crucial investment in prevention, treatment, and recovery — and most importantly, in saving lives and restoring hope. My administration is committed to working with partners like the Rhode Island Foundation and community organizations to build a healthier state where those impacted by substance use can access the help they need”, said McKee. The funds allocated in this distribution will not only connect individuals to support networks but also create more resources for local communities to combat the issue on a smaller scale.
