New England Council member, Providence Colleges’ annual “Friars Give” raised $2.6 million for the university, surpassing the $2.5 million dollar goal they had set. The 24-hour philanthropy event attracted 2,727 different donors in addition to an anonymous $1 million dollar donation.

Since the inaugural “Friars Give” in 2016, Providence College has raised $12 million from over 21,000 donors. Most of the funds will be going toward supporting the student experience and endowed scholarship support. Additionally, the donations will be allocated to the clinical counseling center to encourage funding for wellness and counseling, especially substance abuse education.

“We are incredibly grateful to the alumni, parents, faculty, staff, friends and students who contribute each year,” said Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement Greg Waldron. “It’s their commitment to our mission and generosity that helps us continue to experience recording-breaking success.”

The New England Council congratulates Providence College and commends the school for its commitment to supporting the student experience
