New England Council member, the University of New England, announced that it has hired Norm O’Reilly as the new inaugural dean for UNE’s new College of Business. He will begin his role on July 1, 2024. O’Reilly previously served as dean of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Maine, overseeing the business programs for Maine’s public universities.

Before UMaine, O’Reilly worked at the business programs of several other schools, including the University of Guelph, Ohio University, and Laurentian University. He has also led multi-university fundraising initiatives and projects such as the MaineMBA Academy and the Maine Brand Study. O’Reilly is recognized globally as a leading scholar in the business of sports.

“Norm’s track record of building and leading successful academic programs, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, and driving strategic initiatives positions him well to lead and grow the UNE College of Business,” said Gwendolyn Mahon, UNE provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. “We are confident that, under his guidance, the new college will thrive and provide unparalleled opportunities for our students to excel in the ever-evolving business landscape.”

The New England Council congratulates Norm O’Reilly on this important new role.
