New England Council member, National Grid’s operation specialists will continue to support storm restoration efforts in the southeast United States by heading to Florida to assist in preparation for Hurricane Milton, which is expected to take place this week.

Since September 28, approximately 50 National Grid Massachusetts employees have been supporting restoration efforts in Tennessee and Virginia after the extensive damage brought by Hurricane Helene. Now that the post-Hurricane Helene repair work is coming to an end, National Grid crews are ready to continue further south to support Tampa Electric.

“National Grid is proud of our employees who continue to provide support to our neighbors in the south during their time of need,” said Lisa Wieland, President of National Grid New England. “Following their assistance in restoration efforts of Hurricane Helene, our crews will be present and at the ready to respond to any impacts of Hurricane Milton.”

The New England Council commends National Grid for its hard work in supporting communities impacted by recent and upcoming natural disasters.
