The MITRE Corporation, a Council member, recently established the Center for Data-Driven Policy to provide nonpartisan, evidence-based insights into policymaking. The Center will utilize MITRE’s existing expertise and resources to achieve tangible policy goals.

The new center will work with think tanks, universities, and government agencies, as well as various other nonprofit organizations. Through the center, MITRE seeks to generate effective and equitable policy in an increasingly polarized time. Drawing on decades of experience as a trusted advisor in public policy, the center will bring empirical and experiential-based insights to policy priorities.

“Our team of experts will take what MITRE has learned through research and experimentation and apply those insights to help guide policymakers,” said Dave Powner, director of strategic engagement and partnerships at MITRE, and executive director of the new center. “Like MITRE, the Center for Data-Driven Policy doesn’t lobby or take political positions. Our goal is to broaden and strengthen an evidence-based approach to policy decisions.”

The New England Council applauds the MITRE Corporation on the creation of the Center for Data-Driven Policy. Read more from the MITRE Corporation.
