Massachusetts Port Authority board approves $425M upgrade

New England Council member, the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) recently revealed plans for its multimillion-dollar revamp of Logan Airport’s Terminal E infrastructure. Massport’s board unanimously approved a $425 million budget for improvements, including the creation of a new parking garage, new roadways for arrivals & departures, as well as improved pedestrian pathways.

The expansion will help curbside operations, which Massport says are currently at capacity during peak hours, and the existing infrastructure in the terminal will be insufficient to meet the growing number of passengers. The multipurpose garage is expected to add approximately 4,000 parking spaces, a bridge connection to the central parking area, and dedicated curb space for rideshare and passenger pickup. The renovations are scheduled to begin this fall, with a targeted completion date for the project set for 2027.

The New England Council commends the Massachusetts Port Authority for these renovations.
