Labcorp forms partnership with Tufts Medicine

New England Council member Labcorp is partnering with Tufts Medicine, and will acquire their Outreach Laboratory Business.

The newly acquired facilities provide important specimen collection and testing to many throughout Massachusetts. The partnership will thus be a benefit to a variety of stakeholders, as patients will benefit from increased access to testing, reduced waiting times, and the opportunity to utilize Labcorp technicians’ experience and knowledge, while Labcorp and Tufts Medicine will both be able to offer improved services to patients and further bolster their quality of care. Additionally, this follows a larger trend of Labcorp’s increased efforts to enhance health outcomes throughout the New England region. The acquisition is expected to be finalized by October 2023.

“This relationship will expand access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and laboratory services and improve the testing experience, providing an integrated, single-source, efficient option for patients and providers,” said Mark Schroder, president of Diagnostics Laboratories and chief operations officer of Labcorp. “Tufts Medicine is an established leader in providing diagnostic testing and healthcare in eastern Massachusetts, and their mission and values closely align with Labcorp’s mission to improve health and improve lives.”

The New England Council congratulates Labcorp on this partnership and expanded presence in the region.
