JP Morgan Chase supports hundreds of Boston small businesses with mentorship program

Boston Business Journal / Gary Higgins

New England Council member, JP Morgan Chase, announced that the company has successfully supported hundreds of Boston-based minority business owners through its Coaching for Impact program and Mattapan community center. Coaching for Impact is a four-month-long program that mentors local minority business owners in growing their businesses.

Businesses must have already been in business for at least two years and have at least $100,000 in revenue to qualify for the Coaching for Impact program. Across the U.S., 5,000 businesses have completed the program since its launch in 2022. The program’s Mattapan branch is overseen by the vice president and senior consultant, Johnny Charles. Since joining Chase in 2022, Charles has mentored over 220 businesses. On Wednesday, March 20, Chase hosted an event at the Mattapan Community Center for seven of its local entrepreneurs.

“As part of the racial equity commitment, there was a need to support our small businesses because we know that small businesses are a beeline towards building wealth,” Charles said.

The New England Council would like to commend JP Morgan Chase for this important work in supporting the Boston community.
