Financial Services Committee meets with Congressman Bill Huizenga

On February 27, 2024, the New England Council’s Financial Services Committee met with U.S. Representative Bill Huizenga (R-MI) in Boston. Congressman Huizenga represents Michigan’s 4th Congressional District and is a senior member of the House Financial Services Committee.  He is the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee and also serves on the Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets.

During his discussion with Council members, the Congressman discussed his views on various topics including appropriations for the Federal Government, eDelivery legislation pending before the House of Representatives, regulation of our community banking systems and the future of the Department of Labor’s Fiduciary Rule. The meeting was an excellent opportunity for Council members to connect with a member of Congress from beyond our region who understands the importance of the financial services industry in the broader economy.

Special thanks to NEC members Chartwell Strategies for organizing this meeting, and ML Strategies for hosting at their Boston, MA office.  For more information on the Council’s Financial Services Committee, please contact Griffin Doherty.
