Fidelity Launches Invest in My Education Initiative

New England Council member, Fidelity Investments announced the start of its new social impact initiative, Invest in My Education. This scholarship opportunity serves Black, Latinx, and historically underserved students looking for a path into higher education.

Fidelity Investments has committed $250 million dollars into helping young people achieve their goals without worrying about college debt. The United Negro College Fund will be helping manage the program as well as picking the recipients. Invest in My Education will be the largest corporate scholarship the UNCF has ever administered, giving more high schoolers a chance at higher education, and enriching their futures.

Pamela Everhart, a senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments, said, “I want to be able to provide an opportunity for other young Black and brown kids who look like me to have well-paid jobs, to focus on financial futures, so they can build generational wealth for their families.” She continues to say that this social impact initiative “really speaks to Fidelity’s commitment to underserved communities.”
