Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation awards grants to 352 Nonprofits

New England Council member, Dominion Energy, recently awarded $10 million in grants to 352 nonprofit organizations across multiple states, including Connecticut and Rhode Island. Through the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation, Dominion Energy annually contributes to organizations that aim to help its surrounding communities address their basic needs.
Awardees this year were given grants to support a variety of programs and services, such as promoting access to healthy meals for seniors, expansion of mental health services and art programs for military veterans, providing homeownership education for families in need, and encouraging environmental protection.
“These shareholder-funded grants are designed to strengthen the good work that’s already taking place by nonprofits across local communities,” said Hunter A. Applewhite, President of the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. “Every day, we strive to make a positive impact in all the areas that Dominion Energy serves. Supporting nonprofits helps to address important needs and to create meaningful outcomes.”
