Delta Airlines launches new direct flight route from Boston to Costa Rica

New England Council member, Delta Airlines, will launch its new route from Boston to Costa Rica in January—making it the only flight in the airport to travel to the South American continent on a weekly basis.

“Since Delta began service to the country’s capital of San Jose in 1998, and later to coastal Guanacaste region, it has flown more than 2.4 million people on the routes,” Delta Airlines stated in a press release “Currently, Delta offers up to 39 weekly flights on four routes from the U.S. to San Jose and Guanacaste (Liberia).”

The new route is set to begin on January 11, 2025, and will continue its operations throughout the year until May. Future plans for the company include a Delta One luxury lounge at Boston Logan Airport and an increase in direct flights to Europe during the summer of 2025.

The New England Council commends Delta Airlines for its continued efforts in increasing access to important destination spots all over the world.
