Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology opens new Talent and Training Accelerator

Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology

New England Council member, the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, announced on April 2 the opening of its Talent & Training (TnT) Accelerator, which will contain the center’s new Digital Thread Lab (DTL). The DTL is a partnership with the DoD’s Office of Industrial Base Policy Manufacturing Capability Expansion and Investment Prioritization office to provide manufacturers with the necessary technical training to fully leverage data-driven digital capabilities and improve commercial production by the supply chain to meet DoD needs.

The DTL is located at CCAT’s corporate headquarters in East Hartford, Connecticut, and includes a 12-seat digital computing classroom and an Automation Nexus where participants will be trained in advanced manufacturing, quality inspection, vision, and automation technologies. As stated in a press release from CCAT, the goal of the lab is to “advance digital thread and model-based definition adoption and practice in Connecticut and the northeast region.”

“By listening and responding to the needs of industry, particularly our small and medium-sized manufacturers, we developed and activated this state-of-the-art facility, integrating digital technology advancement with technical training to address distinct challenges. As a nationally designated hub for Digital Thread Training, it emphasizes CCAT’s mission to secure a resilient manufacturing industrial base and position Connecticut at the epicenter for applied research, innovation, and training”, said President and CEO of CCAT, Ron Angelo.

The New England Council commends the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology for the critical and innovative training it is providing.
