Community Servings announces 32nd annual bake sale Pie in the Sky

New England Council member, Community Servings, announced its $1 million goal for their annual fundraiser: Pie in the Sky. The Thanksgiving-themed event will be the non-profit’s 32nd annual bake sale.

From Nov. 1 through Nov. 23, participants who donate up to $35 on the Community Servings website will receive a freshly baked, locally produced pumpkin pie. The donation will support residents of Rhode Island and Massachusetts living with critical or chronic illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, cancer, and diabetes. Each donation helps provide a week’s worth of groceries for those in need.

“Thanks to the strong support and dedication of our local hospitality community, hundreds of volunteers and generous sponsors, we are able to serve more and more neighbors each year,” said David B. Waters, CEO of Community Servings. “Delivering a record amount of scratch-made medically tailored meals to individuals and families impacted by critical and chronic illnesses is quite a feat, but we know we can do it when the community comes together to make a difference.”

The event has many sponsors, with National Grid being a recent addition. Other sponsors include the Coldwell Banker Realty Cares Foundation, Digitas, ScrubaDub Auto Wash Centers, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and Signature Boston. The New England Council commends Community Servings for its work in helping New England citizens in need.
