New England Council member, Bank of America, alongside the Boston Athletic Association, recently beat the record of the largest single-day charitable donation total in the history of the Boston Marathon by raising $1.87 million on March 16th.

The fundraising record was set on the Boston Marathon’s Giving Day, encouraging runners and supporters to seek donations for the 176+ non-profit charities affiliated with ‘The Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program.’

Representatives for the charities and nonprofits attended the celebratory event in Boston with the 2018 Boston Marathon women’s champion Des Linden, B.A.A. Chair of the Board Dr. Cheri Blauwet, and Miceal Chamberlain, President, Bank of America Massachusetts in attendance. The 129th annual marathon is set to take place on April.

The New England Council congratulates Bank of America on this new fundraising record.
