New England Council discuss how supply chain challenges are hitting home
The New England Council hosted a panel discussion Thursday morning on how supply chain challenges are hitting home.
Some New England companies said some of the biggest challenges now are the omicron variant, travel restrictions, and not enough workers.
However, all this talk about the “supply chain” has made people more aware of its importance.
“I think this general understanding of what we mean by supply chain and the interconnectedness of the whole supply chain is something that’s a major challenge. For us here as suppliers, it’s ingredients, it’s packaging, there’s transport, there’s labor and the connectivity of all of those,” explained Gordon Reid, president of Stop & Shop.
Reid also highlighted the importance of workers in the supply chain. Without them, you won’t be able to get your goods and groceries.
