Delta Airlines increases role in Boston Logan Airport

New England Council member Delta Air Lines is significantly expanding its presence at Boston Logan International Airport, announcing a 50% increase in seats since 2019 and several new international and domestic routes for 2026.

Delta, the busiest airline at Logan, carried 5.6 million passengers from Boston in 2025 — roughly 200,000 more than its closest competitor. The airline currently operates an average of 170 daily departures from the airport. New routes launching this year include service to Madrid and Nice this summer, with direct flights to Tel Aviv and Honolulu returning later in 2026.

Amy Martin, Delta’s vice president of network planning, attributed Boston’s strategic value to its mix of leisure and business travelers and its proximity to Europe relative to other U.S. cities. “Boston is really a strategic, important base for us, and an area where we want to grow both to serve the local market demand, but also it’s a great gateway for the transatlantic for us,” she said.

Delta has also invested in premium customer experiences in Boston, including the opening of its Delta One lounge last year. The airline employs approximately 2,000 people in the Boston area.

The New England Council applauds Delta Air Lines on its continued investment in Boston and the region, and looks forward to the expanded connectivity these new routes will bring to New England travelers.
