Raytheon sending Collins oxygen trucks to India amid COVID surge
COVID-19 cases are surging in India and medical oxygen is in dangerously short supply. NEC member Raytheon Technologies Corp. is retrofitting Collins Aerospace-made oxygen-filling trucks for deployment to the Indian Red Cross Society in New Delhi.
The vehicles will be used to feed hospital oxygen supply lines and to fill portable oxygen cylinders, company officials said.
Raytheon Technologies said the trucks are being flown from Lubeck, Germany, to India aboard Indian Air Force military cargo aircraft.
The New England Council commends Raytheon for this helpful effort as the country of India continues to lack the infrastructure needed to transport and store liquid medical oxygen. Read more from the Hartford Business Journal.
