NEC Announces New Higher Ed, Housing Co-Chairs

In recent weeks, new co-chairs have been named for several of The New England Council’s policy committees. The Council’s policy committees and cross-sector working groups bring together Council members with shared priorities and areas of interest to collaborate on both advocacy, programming, and other initiatives. The new co-chairs are:

David Gasson, MG Housing Strategies, Housing Working Group Co-Chair – David Gasson has been named co-chair of the Housing Working Group. David is a principal and founding partner of MG Housing Strategies, a boutique advocacy firm focused on affordable housing issues. On behalf of MG’s clients, David has advised Members of Congress and the Administration on policy issues affecting the economics, production and availability of affordable housing. Since 1995, David has served as the Executive Director of the Housing Advisory Group, a national organization founded in 1993 to educate federal officials and advocate for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. David is an original member of the Affordable Housing ACTION Campaign, where he serves on the steering committee. He is a member of the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) and the National Leased Housing Association (NLHA). David also advises the Council of Independent State Housing Associations (CISHA) on policy and advocacy. Over his 30+ years in the business, David has worked with numerous Administrations and Congresses to expand the LIHTC, lift regulatory barriers and educate the public and private sectors on affordable housing.  Prior joining the industry, David worked on Capitol Hill for House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt (D-MO) and Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell (D-ME). Jennifer Grodsky, Boston University, Higher Education Committee Co-Chair- Jennifer Grodsky, Boston University’s Vice President for Federal Relations, has been named co-chair of the Higher Education Committee. Jennifer works from BU’s Washington, DC, office to strengthen the University’s ties to federal agencies and policymakers. She facilitates BU’s involvement in key federal decisions affecting research universities, gathers information on emerging federal funding trends, connects faculty with federal funders, shares the University’s expertise with policymakers, works with national educational and scientific organizations, and increases BU’s visibility in Washington. Before joining BU, Jennifer was the executive director of federal relations for the University of Southern California. She previously served as legislative director for then-Congresswoman Hilda L. Solis and legislative assistant for Congressman Julian C. Dixon. Grodsky has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Psychology from USC.For more information on the Higher Education Committee, please contact Mariah Healy.

Amy Iseppi, Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, Housing Working Group Co-Chair – Amy Iseppi is Vice President and Director of Government and Community Relations at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, where she represents the Bank’s interests with government officials and leads engagement with members of Congress and their staff while developing strategies that strengthen the Bank’s long-term position. Committed to public service and community engagement, she serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Council and the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce Women’s Network Advisory Board. She has held leadership roles with several Massachusetts nonprofits, including the Board of Arts for Learning Massachusetts, President of the Catholic Schools Foundation’s Young Leaders Council, and EdVestors’ annual event in support of Boston Public Schools. Amy’s career in financial services spans government and regulatory affairs, relationship management, strategy, and investment banking, giving her a broad perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. She brings both policy expertise and business acumen to her work, ensuring the Bank is a trusted voice in conversations on housing, finance, and community development. A graduate of Wellesley College, where she majored in Economics and Political Science, Amy went on to earn her MBA from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management with concentrations in Leadership & Management and Strategy.
