Tuft’s University Flecther School in demand as Ukraine War wages on

New England Council member, Tufts University, is in high demand for the research being conducted at the Fletcher School for global affairs and international relations.

For the faculty at the graduate school of international affairs at Tufts University, the Fletcher School, global crises aren’t “real-world lessons” for their students, they have instead been called upon to help make sense of those global tensions by the media and government organizations. Not only are only a few of the nation’s schools of international affairs as tied into current affairs as Fletcher, but the students are able to conduct research on high-profile global issues, and provide real-time learning experiences. With this, much of the school’s work has taken place in the field, often in dangerous areas. Recently research has been conducted in Estonia, Latvia, Moldova and Turkey, countries on the doorstep of the Ukraine war.

“Most of the professors at Fletcher are bringing the world into the classroom and the classroom into the world,” said the Fletcher School’s dean, Rachel Kyte. “That’s what makes it so special.”

The New England Council commends Tufts University for its commitment to global research.
