Citizens Bank supports nonprofits with financial literacy program

New England Council member, Citizens Bank, announced that 150 nonprofit organizations across the communities it serves will receive support through the bank’s Citizens Helping Citizens Manage Money program. A total of $2 million will be granted to select nonprofits, bolstering their efforts in this crucial field. This initiative empowers communities by funding and encouraging volunteerism for programs that promote financial well-being and inspire goal achievement.

“Citizens is committed to ensuring that all individuals have access to economic opportunity, and we know that understanding how to manage money is often a first step to unlocking that opportunity and reducing the wealth gap,” said Michelle Hecht, Head of Corporate Affairs at Citizens. “Through our support, we provide members of our communities with the confidence and tools to build brighter futures.”

This announcement coincides with Financial Literacy Month, a nationally recognized campaign highlighting the importance of financial education.

The New England Council would like to congratulate Citizens Bank for this initiative.
