2022 Year in Review

2022 was another incredible year at The New England Council, and we are deeply grateful to our members for your ongoing engagement and support.

As the pandemic continued to ease, we were thrilled to be able to resume our in-person programming throughout New England and in Washington, DC. Our membership has continued to grow as we welcomed dozens of new members representing a variety of industries throughout the region. And over the course of the year, the Council has advocated for a variety of federal policy proposals aimed at promoting continued economic growth and a high quality of life in the region.

2022 Events

Spring 2022 marked our return to in-person events throughout New England and in Washington, DC. Over the course of the year, we hosted nearly 50 in-person events with members of Congress, Governors, policy experts, and other political leaders. Policy Advocacy & Programs

Through our various policy committees and cross-sector working groups, the Council worked with our members throughout 2022 to advocate for federal policies that will support continued economic growth in the region. Our policy committees and working groups also continued to be forums for information sharing among our members, convening conversations on important policy topics and hosting guest speakers to keep our members informed on key policy developments in Washington, DC.

Membership

The Council was fortunate to see significant membership retention and growth in 2022. Over the course of the year, we were pleased to welcome 77 new members, representing a wide array of industries in all six New England States. By year’s end, the Council was proud to count over 600 businesses and organizations as members.

Washington Leaders' Conference

With the return of in-person programming, we were pleased to once again be able to hold our Annual Washington Leaders’ Conference in 2022. Some 200 Council members from throughout the region joined us in our nation’s capital in May for two days of meetings and briefings. Participants had the opportunity to network with fellow Council members across an array of industries, and to connect with members of Congress, Congressional staff, and other key federal policymakers.

Annual Celebration

In November 2022, we were thrilled to hold our Annual Celebration in-person for the first time since 2019. With some 1,800 guests joining us, it was the largest and most successful Annual Celebration in the Council’s history. We honored several incredible New Englanders of the Year for their contributions to the region, and also presented a Lifetime Achievement Award and a Distinguished Service Award to several deserving individuals.
