Stop & Shop to Donate 25,000 Thanksgiving Turkeys to Hunger Relief Organizations Across the Northeast through Annual Turkey Express Program
New England Council member Stop & Shop has launched its annual Turkey Express program. Throughout the month of November, Stop & Shop will be donating holiday meals to families in need and hunger relief organizations before the Thanksgiving holiday. Stop & Shop will deliver 25,000 Thanksgiving turkeys to a total of 30 community partners.
The Turkey Express program has helped those in need for over a decade. Throughout the month of November, Stop & Shop will hold donation events all around the Northeast to encourage food donations. From Massachusetts all the way to New Jersey, Stop & Shop reports they will deliver 25,000 Thanksgiving turkeys for a total of 400,000 pounds. The Turkey Express donation program events will include celebrities and surprise guests along with local food banks encouraging customers to come together to help those in need this holiday season.
President of Stop & Shop, Gordon Reid said, “With many of our neighbors facing continued hardship, the work that food banks and hunger relief organizations continue to do for our communities is essential, especially during the holiday season,”
The New England Council would like to commend Stop & Shop for its generous donations of Thanksgiving turkeys to ensure everyone can enjoy a nutritious meal for the Thanksgiving holiday.
