Holy Cross commits $40M in financial aid to low-income, undocumented students
New England Council Member the College of the Holy Cross is partnering with Schuler Education Foundation to commit $40 million to support financial aid to low income and undocumented students. In joining the initiative, Holy Cross will raise a dollar-for-dollar match of the total amount expected for a 10-year period.
The Schuler Access Initiative was designed to connect low-income and undocumented students with top-tier liberal arts colleges. Out of the five other schools committed, Holy Cross is the only college in Massachusetts that has been selected this year. Holy Cross will help generate $1 billion in investment goals put forth by the Schuler Access Initiative over the next ten years. The college has a strong tradition of successful graduation rates for Pell-eligible and undocumented students including founding the First-gen Forward institution and Hope+ Access Campaign for Financial Aid.
President of Holy Cross, Vincent D. Rougeau, said, “Holy Cross is honored to partner with the Schuler Education Foundation to promote greater access and affordability to undocumented, underrepresented and Pell-eligible students. The College and its donors look forward to supporting these deserving young scholars as they enrich our community and take full advantage of all Holy Cross has to offer.”
