Sen. John Kennedy speaks at ‘Politics and Eggs’, says ‘never say never’ to presidential run

By Courtney Bertrand, WMUR

“I love New Hampshire,” said Sen. John Kennedy.

Sen. John Kennedy has carved out his own space in American politics. The senator from Louisiana charmed his ‘Politics and Eggs’ audience with unique insights from Capitol Hill.

“The president is like a box of chocolates,” said Kennedy. “You never know what you are going to get.”

Kennedy is an ally of President Donald Trump but says he is also not a MAGA superfan.

“I don’t hang out at the White House, some of my colleagues do,” said Kennedy. “I’ve just never been a groupie. I play outside the pocket, and I have completely fit in. That’s one of my best qualities.”

Now in his second term, Kennedy has built a national profile, but he is keeping talk of a future run for the White House at arm’s length.

“I’m happy as a United States senator, plan to run for reelection. You never say never,” said Kennedy.
