NEC Healthcare Committee Establishes Several Subcommittees

In March 2022, The New England Council’s Healthcare Committee announced the establishment of several health committees to better shape and drive the Council’s work on healthcare policy issues.

Based upon feedback from Healthcare Committee members, the four subcommittees include:

  • Addiction & Behavioral Health Subcommittee
  • Health Equity Subcommittee
  • Health Innovation & Technology Subcommittee
  • Workforce Subcommittee

Current members of the NEC Healthcare Committee are invited to volunteer for any of the subcommittees that are of interest and relevant to their work.  The role of each subcommittee will be to (a) help identify important issues and legislation, and develop the Council’s position on said topics, and (b) identify topics and guest speakers for committee meetings and/or Council-wide events.

Subcommittee members should be prepared to take on a larger role and serve as thought leaders for Healthcare Committee advocacy and programming. This will include meeting in the spring and fall, and additionally as needed as issue and legislation arises.  The initial meeting for each of the subcommittees will take place in April, however members are welcome to volunteer to join a subcommittee at any time.

If you are a Council member interested in participating in any of the subcommittees, or if you have any questions, please contact Sean Malone.
