MassMutual Touts a ‘non-negotiable’ commitment to LGBT support

New England Council member, MassMutual, has been continuing its commitment to LGBT support during this pride month, winning the 2022 Corporate Ally Award. MassMutual has been consistently voicing its public opposition to discriminatory and harmful legislation at the state and local level, specifically with their Pride Business Resources Group (BRG).

MassMutual has been able to grow its business resource group to now nearly 450-member group, which is one of the many reasons for  winning this award. This group has advocated for education on pronouns, all-gender restrooms for employees and guests, and critical benefits to employees and loved ones. MassMutual has also set an example as one of Massachusetts’ largest private corporations and one of the nation’s top insurance and financial services companies, consistently voicing public opposition to discriminatory and harmful legislation at the state and local levels. MassMutual has remained completely committed to its support of the LGBT community.

“MassMutual’s top leaders and board of directors quickly showed up in support, as they have ever since,” said co-founder Bernadette Harrigan, lead counsel, litigation. “Today MassMutual’s Pride BRG is one of the largest and most active BRGs in the company.”

The New England Council would like to commend MassMutual for its ongoing work and support of the LGBT community.
