Diversity & Inclusion

In early 2021, The New England Council launched a new Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee.

The Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Committee advises Council leadership on how the organization can best support efforts to foster diversity and inclusion in the region’s business community, and to ensure economic opportunities for people of all backgrounds in a manner that is consistent with the Council’s mission.

The purpose of the committee is to:

  • Help the Council identify and develop positions on federal legislation aimed at increasing diversity in the region’s workforce and expanding economic opportunities.
  • Identify strategic partnerships with other organizations who are working toward similar goals of increased workforce diversity and economic opportunity.
  • Help develop informative programming for our members topics related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
  • As needed, assist the Council in recruiting a diverse field of candidates for any open positions on our own staff.

The committee includes representatives of a wide array of businesses and organizations in the region across various industries, and is co-chaired by Michael Curry, CEO of the MA League of Community Health Centers, and Jeffrey Sanchez, former MA legislator and Senior Advisor, Rasky Partners.
