The Council's federal relations staff provides a critical link between Council members, the 34 members of the New England Congressional Delegation and their staffs, and Administration and other Executive branch officials. These relationships help ensure that the Council's priorities receive the highest level of attention on Capitol Hill and at the White House. In addition to advancing the Council's legislative agenda and monitoring developments that affect issues important to the region's economic growth, the Council's staff provides timely updates to its members on federal policy initiatives that have an impact on the regional economy and also supports the activities of the bipartisan New England Congressional Caucus. The Council conducts regular Congressional staff briefings to offer the regional and industry perspective on issues before the Congress that may be impacted by government action.

Our members also enjoy frequent contact with policy makers both in the region and in Washington with numerous scheduled events throughout the year including breakfast, lunch and dinner programs, seminars, forums and conferences. Our annual Washington D.C. Event includes a White House briefing with senior Administration officials and a Congressional Delegation reception to give our members – especially those without offices in Washington -- an opportunity to meet with decision-makers in an informal manner. Please see our Events page for upcoming events and registration requirements.

Furthermore, the Council's Washington staff keeps our membership up to date with the Washington Report. Whenever Congress is in session, the Council regularly publishes its Washington Report to keep its membership informed about the status of legislation and policy initiatives in our nation's capital that are important to the New England region. Some of the major issue areas where the Council has been especially active are:
