LARRY ZABAR

Larry Zabar is the Council’s Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.  He joined the Council staff in 1989 following 11 years working on Capitol Hill.

Larry’s responsibilities include membership, the Annual Dinner, programs run by the Council throughout the region, and special programs such as Politics and Eggs, Team New England activities, the Creative Economy Initiative, the Older Workers Commission, and the Marine Economy Program.  Larry also has responsibility for a number of contracts and grants that support Council initiatives.

Larry is active on a number of Boards including serving as President of Swampscott Little League; a Commissioner of the Essex National Heritage Commission; a Director and Chair of the Development Committee of Children’s Friend; a Director of the Freedom Trail Foundation; and a Director of Equal Justice America.

Larry and his wife Hope live in Swampscott, Massachusetts.  They have a son, Josh, who is a 2006 graduate of Yale University, now living and working in New York City.
